some news ...

we are in the middle of a waterfall of hits pumping out of our Electro Beach Studio these days: Europ Europ recording sessions at Mekka Studio september and october have resulted in new songs with working titles 'Ants On Acid', '22:22', 'Le Rouge', 'Deaf Not Blind', 'Prescription Drugs' and 'Not The Best Lie I've Had' + a bunch of yet unmixed material ... expect something released sometimes "soon"

We are thrilled about all the fantastic remixes we have recieved for our Europ Europ 'gets head' remix album. To be released by Etch Wear as cat. no. EW 30 ... we have remixes by SKL, Goran, Mr. Broda, Sololust, Saint Maurice and some others under construction ...

We are performing live at MiR (Oslo, Norway) thursday november 17th, at the Urban Kvae Festival, alongside a kick-ass line-up of bands, artists and performance art. Also there will be a dj-set by Dj`s aus Europ Europ either 18th or 19th, full program TBA soon, stay tuned !

Dj`s aus Europ Europ will also spin vinyls at MiR friday december 9th, at the Etch Wear labelnight : Epilektrician LP release ...

We are sorry to tell we are not coming to Italy november after all, but happy to tell we are planning a new European tour ca march 2012, and we hope to come by Genova to play then ... we are playing some gigs in France with LoGre, soon TBA, and the rest of the tour will be wrapped around the dates ... if you want us cruising by your town, please contact etchwear@gmail.com ...

We are celebrating our 15 yrs anniversary (1996 ~ 2011) with some live shows

We are playing live at Sound Of Mu on monday 26th of september ... finally we will do our long talked about cafe session. The concept behind 'Europ Europ live at the Sad Cafe' was the first performance we ever talked about, back in 1996, before even playing music together. The title arrived to us approx 2003, when we mixed our track 'the sad cafe', but still it would take us 8 yrs before feeling ready to do it ... it`s the ultimate intimate way to ever perform a show ... you should come and check it out !

Later this year we will perform our live concept 'Europ Europ live at Fun Fun Disco' ... also an old unperformed performance by Europ Europ, from the early years of concept art muzak ... venue and date TBA.

We are also playing live in Italy, sometimes November, TBA ...

We are now back in recording mood, and we will have a very special recording session tomorrow

We had a fantastic weekend at Kvae, our favourite festival, secret location Låssbyn/ Sweden.

Burning Europ, sunday 24th, we played some special improvised versions of several Burning Motherfuckers and Europ Europ songs, but mostly new stuff we`ve made together this summer. We started the show with a special version of our song 'one for the entertainment', taken from our debut album 'No . one in Germany' ...

Our main label Etch Wear released a special Kvae edition of the compilation 'Conspiracy #2' (with Dj`s aus Europ Europ +++ ... originally released 2010), also a new compilation with tracks from their 5 next catalogue numbers to be released the next coming months.
the compilation (cat. no. EW XXX CD 001) 'Etch Wear Summer Hits Volume 1' includes tracks by our Burning Europ project, and our track 'Stormy Pacific (Extended Version)', as well as songs by Solar Temple, Epilektrician and Fräulein Luftwaffe ...

Time fly when having fun, and even faster when you`re relaxing afterwards ... here`s some updates from the Far From Tellus + Europ Europ 'far from europ tour 2011' ...;

1st of may we packed the Far From Tellus van full of gear, and drove off ... On the road we played 7 shows (including the two Etch Wear label-nights in Norway), we released a DiY CDr promo for give-aways + merch, and we had two recording-sessions ...

We have updated the list of recorded sessions, and our live list, both found in the left site navigator ...

First gig was in Haarlem/ Netherlands, were we hung out for some days first, with the excellent Geertrudia / Treasure Of Grundo crew. This is where we printed, stamped and released our CDr ltd. ed. 22 copies 'extended head sampler' ... The sampler includes 'off to work' and 'an accident in Greece (Mr. Broda version)' as taken from the mother-release 'fast head e.p.' on Etch Wear. Also it includes a previously unreleased song 'dr. Goodhearts lesson #69' from a future album, and remixes of our songs made by Aab, SKL, Mr. Broda and Goran.

We also had time to do a inspiring jammy recording session with members of Europ Europ, Far From Tellus and hosts Treasure Of Grundo. We had an excellent time, thanks so much ! We will be back for sure !

The next three gigs was in France, with our good friends LoGre. First in St. Etienne, then their hometown Lyon, and then our favourite night of the 3 at the temporary autonome zone/ Bourg en Bresse gig. Here we played 2 of our own songs, and joined both Far From Tellus and LoGre for some versus sessions during their shows. We also met some nice local people and we exchanged some of our vinyls with some of their underground drum'n'bass 12"s ... oh, and the whole mini-festival was held in a circus tent ... Excellent ! Excellent ! Excellent !

After the french shows, we had two days off, and the plan was to go see Kim Ki O + Moon Duo the 8th of may in Utrecht/ Netherlands. We drove straight after the Bourg en Bresse show, and arrived Utrecht and the Strowis Hostel in time for this, but unfortunately we were too tired to manage to go.
Our tour booker Mr. Etch fell asleep and could not be waken, while the few who went to see the show got lost and didn`t manage to find the venue. Very unfortunately, because we all loved the Kim Ki O show at Geertrudia and really wanted to see them again.

The 9th we drove to Sweden, and our show at Koloni the 10th, hosted by the excellent booker Christian Pallin. We had some technical problems, so our live-set fell to pieces this night, but the crowd and the atmosphere there was brilliant, so were Far From Tellus ! We hope to be back once to play a better show.

We were back in Norway may 11th, and we all enjoyed some resting and time apart after 10 days on the road and over 5000 kilometers driving, and before the last leg of the tour; two Etch Wear labelnights/ LoGre LP releaseparties in Tønsberg and Oslo.

After the shows, LoGre stayed for a day and we had an excellent recording session in the Far From Tellus studio, with Espen and Magnus as technicians. We recorded Europ Europ vs. LoGre 'antipolitique'. The recording also included fantastic Troïdes Priamus Hecuba vocalist Tom Tom doing his own rap version of the lyrics. The song 'antipolitique is originally written by french band No One Is Innocent, and there is also a supercool version by LoGre feat. Microbien recorded.
This was the last recording ever done in this studio, because Ragde Eiendom (of whom they rented it) broke the contract and kicked them out because of neighbour complaints... also Far From Tellus had scheduled to record their new album after the tour, and have been busy ...
so the recordings are not mixed yet, but will be during this summer, so expect some version available later this year ...

After the tour, we have done almost nothing, but things are starting to happen again ..
June 6th we teamed up with rad noiserockers Burning Motherfuckers, and we recorded a 1 hour long jamsession, and we can assure you, it was pure magic. So we have decided we are doing an Europ Europ vs. Burning Motherfuckers (AKA Burning Europ) project this summer. Catch us live at Kvae festival and hopefully there will ba a Oslo gig as well ! Stay tuned for more updates !

Also, soon there will be some news about our next album, to be released by the excellent Netherland label Enfant Terrible ...

We have started looking for gigs for our april 2011 tour with Far From Tellus ... We are in Denmark ca 7th or 8th, Netherlands 8-9th to 10th, Belgique 10th or 11th, France between 12th and ca 16-17th, Italy 17-18th to 19-20th, after that we are looking for gigs in any country between Italy and Denmark (Slovakia, Swiss, Austria, Germany, Czech Republic) for 20/21st ~22rd of april, and then hopefully Copenhagen 23th and Göteborg 24th of april.

Hey, we`ve been busy, lots of recording sessions lately, resulting in a lot of new songs ready to pop up on vinyl sometimes "soon" ... but behind our backs, our label Etch Wear have been very busy also, so now they have a new 7" promo they`re sending around, with our fine tracks 'too much tobacco (say no)' and 'the sad cafe' ...

they have also given us 99 copies that we are gonna individually cover/label design (no 99 alike, ltd. ed. numbered TOT 01 to TOT 99), and the other 99 copies will be released with a silk-screen printed cardboard sleeve, white labels with a small sticker side b ... release and possibility of purchasing this 7" will be announced ... stay in touch

Etch Wear and Handmade Records are releasing issue #2 of their fanzine series 'the Conspiracy' ... our fine Dj team Dj`s aus Europ Europ has made a short narrative intro and outro for the included 7" compilation ; intro / 'vitaminapiece 11~11~09' [00:22] and outro 'vitaminapiece 11~11~09b' [00:33] ... the other bands featured on the compilation is Mindy Misty, Starbug, Izakaya Heartbeat, Epilektrician, Son Tarjeiav and LoGre (France) ... release winter/spring 2010

Finally, the big update, home from tour, takes a while to recover, EE still not there yet, but soon ...

First of, mr. Mindy Misty vs Europ Europ European mini-tour 2009 was performed by Sigve Gunnarskog (drums / MM) Kenneth Amundsen (guitar / MM) Roy Amundsen (guitar / MM) Trond Harald Jensen (bass / MM) Cattreena Stone (bass / EE) Mr. Europ (vocals / Noiser / EE) Mr. Europ (vocals / Sampler / EE)

Unfortunately mr. Europs sampler was stolen after the Genova gig in Italy, so he hasd to improvise vocals on the last 3 shows, making a special 'No One / Dirty Cash' mash up for the Le Molodoi and Chab shows
the entire setlist was performed only once, at Chapeau Rouge, Prague, Czech Republic, all other venues had a 6 - 7 song setlist

... the MM vs EE 's/t' album is finally on vinyl, our fine discography page have been updated ... a slightly different sleeve back design by O ~E ~P and colour inlay by Roy, 250 copies, (EW 22 / HMR 012) ... We would like to point out that GZ Digital Media didn`t manage to deliver us our promised and exspensively paid for vinyls the 2nd of September, when we entered their factory for our promised guided tour and vinyl edition of 's/t' ... the fuckers didn`t even seem to care about the fact that the entire tour was based on promoting this vinyl, and that we now had to make it without it (luckily we already had a CD edition, but still ...)... So, i recommend ANY vinyl printing company except GZ Digital Media, we`re never going to print there again, and once revenge will be served them like a nice ice-tea, like they served us cold vinyls the actual day we came HOME from tour ... fuck GZ

We did experience alot of troubles on the tour, so it`s ended up being referred to as the 2009 Jinx tour, and the list is endless; leaving Norway was delayed 10 hours due to problems with the new tires on our Van, the already mentioned vinyl-disaster, we got a fine in Prague because we had forgotten the lights, our Chevy Van broke down in Switzerland, and then later in France even worse, we got stopped and delayed 5 hours by the German Autobahn Polizei, we did`t make it to one gig because of traffic, another show we missed the fantastic support act LoGre because of traffic, Mr. Etchs sampler , mask and equipment got stolen, mr. Europs laptop got stolen , Kenneth and mr. Europ got sick and feverish right before Le Molodoi gig, and if we go down to details, the list is endless, it all felt like a jinx... but all the actual shows were fantastic, and the show we had to cancell with Japanese Gum the 4th at L`Embobineuse, we did together with excellent Marseille artist Miosine, Astro (Japan) and Kouhei Matsunaga (Jap) the day after instead so it all ended good ... loads of new pictures and scanned flyers and posters from the tour in the scrapbook section, and more to come ... we also recommend to visit the Etch Wear myspace for loads of Europ Europ related images

Etchman found loads of new records for his collection, from excellent shops Lollipop (Marseille / France), Veals and Geeks (Brussel / Belgique), Disco Club (Genova / Italy) and Amertume Distro (International mail order), Etchmans collection is found here, we`ve also updated our links section with our new contacts .... All these shops are now selling the Handmade Records and Etch Wear available CD and vinyl back-catalogue and will sell future releases ...

We are very proud to announce that our project Mindy Misty vs Europ Europ have been invited to play at the Kanalrock 2009 Festival.The festival is in Horten, a small beautifull city a hour away from Oslo. M14th + 15th of august at Kanalrock r. Etch was at Kanalrock in the early 90ies, watching bands like Seigmen, Motorpsycho, Israelvis +++ now looking forward to play there himself !
